“All you need in the world is love and laughter. That’s all anybody needs. Love in one hand and laughter in the other.”
When you text, “LOL” are you really laughing out loud? If not, then you probably should a little more. Time and time again, I have heard that laughter is the best medicine. After a little research, I’ve come to know that laughter has many benefits.
Some of these benefits include:
- leads to stronger immune systems
- helps prevent heart disease
- helps reduce anxiety
- releases endorphins which can relieve physical pain
- strengthens relationships
- improves team work
- it’s attractive
“The day Rick Ross dives into the crowd, is the day we find out who his true fans are.”
Kevin Hart is one of, if not the funniest comedians out there if you ask me. It is said that he used jokes to escape from his situation at home. There is a brilliance to the way he mixes reality with humor.
This is pretty much how I get down at home with my loved ones. Not that I use it to escape from home, but laughter certainly lightens the load. I very much enjoy being the comedian of our tribe. I honestly don’t think I’d have a chance with the love of my life if I was unable to make her laugh. She has the best laugh in the world, so it’s a definite motivator for me to lighten the load around the household with a little laughter. Ok, lots of laughter.
Life can be serious people! So we like to think. We have jobs to attend, school to go to, homework, schedules and bills. Not to mention, when we turn on the TV, everything on the news is so serious and daunting. So why not “LOL” for real?
It’s always been really easy for me to find humor in everyday things. People are funny if you are willing to see the funny in them. Laughter, like love, seems to be the glue to keep it all together for us. I’m proud of our silliness.
So laugh it up my friends! Invite laughter into your life as much as possible. Laugh until your stomach muscles hurt. If you pee a little, oh well, laugh that off too. Laugh until the tears come rolling down your cheeks. Snort, giggle and chuckle as much as you can, and don’t be surprised when your relationships with those you love and laugh with become stronger.
I suppose there are many ways to lighten the load of life. Laughter just happens to be one of my favorite ways. Remember that life is shaped by the hands of our attitudes.
